Overview

Based at local Wanaka crags, the Introduction to Sport Climbing Course introduces the fundamental skills for sport climbing including learning to lead climb, lowering-off fixed anchors, cleaning routes, and abseiling. Progress your sport climbing goals with tactics, mental, strength, and fitness training movement coaching, and projecting.

Sport Climbing

Most Wānaka rock climbs are single-pitch sport climbs protected by fixed bolts, but there are also some multi-pitch and traditionally protected climbs.

The venue provides the opportunity to develop further technical rope skills or techniques and strategies to attempt harder climbs. Whether you are focused on developing your own skills or getting shown around the best spots by a local guide.

We also offer a range of other rock climbing courses covering, traditionally protected climbing, multi-pitch climbing, alpine rock climbing, and rock rescue.
