The peaks of the Harris Mountains and Buchannan Mountains are a short flight from the Matukituki Valley. They provide excellent viewpoints over Lake Wānaka and the peaks of Mount Aspiring National Park. Our range of Mountain Safety Council endorsed avalanche skills courses provide the skills you need to keep you safe on your own backcountry adventures. These short or more comprehensive longer courses are run as day trips from Wānaka or staying overnight in the mountains.
